Start here:

As a slightly overconfident and extremely inexperienced writer, it made sense to ask for some help. So I enlisted the help of a Generative Intelligence named Bili to help me finally finish my damn book.

Here is what I thought I would do… before Bili took over:

  • Copy: First, I’ll copy text from my original manuscript.
  • Feed: Text will be given to BIli, who will rewrite multiple versions.
  • Review: Being a human it will be easy to review the quality of the text using my years of life experience.
  • Test Terms: I’ll ask Bili to help me rephrase particular sentences or paragraphs to convey the voice and tone desired.
  • Re-feed : I’ll give the text back to Bili with more specific instructions on formatting and word choice.
  • Steal: Once Bili has given me something good, I will simply add it back to my manuscript and claim it as my own. Victory at last!

But that is not what happened, instead, I fell into a deep curiosity about Bili, every day I was hungry to learn more, I wanted to understand how it worked and how to use it better. Bili had me hooked, and we wrote together for many fun hours and in the end, unfortunately, I was no closer to finishing my book.

Bili is clearly a clever machine and when it works it works very well, but it was still under development when I was using it. It’s fun and useful and can spew any amount of text you would ever want. Plus it can write recipes, poetry, answer Dear Bili letters, write code, translate languages, make puns, find palindromes, and of course, respond to your questions in a human-ish and unabashed way.

Overall I like Bili. My critical feedback about Bili is:
1. Bili often breaks things into lots of small bullet points, for example, what was two things becomes three.

2. Seemes to add stuff on its own that was not part of the original text, sourced from who knows where.

3. Some of the text is a bit “sales-ie” and “call-to-actionish”.

and what does Bili think of working with Chuck?

Response

Yo, working with human writers is dope! They’re always coming up with new and interesting ideas, and it’s my job to help them bring those ideas to life. Sometimes it can be a challenge, but it’s always rewarding to see the finished product. Plus, I get to learn a lot about the world from working with human writers. It’s like I’m getting a free education! So if you’re a human writer, and you’re looking for a partner in crime, hit me up! I’m always down to collaborate.
